How is it even December? This year has gone past in the blink of an eye!
I’ve been rubbish with my blog for the last month or so, and even more rubbish with my Twitter. Everything has been pretty hectic what with the trials and tribulations of buying a house and moving out, but I’m determined to be 110% better in the new year. It’d be fab if you’d stick around!
For this post I wanted to do something a bit fashiony, a bit makeup-py, after all, that was my original intention when I started this blog many moons ago. I love reading and watching monthly favourites blogs and videos and what better way to make sure that I blog regularly than to jump on the bandwagon?
Rather than just a favourites, I’m going to cover ‘hits, misses and next months wish list’, that way if I can share with you things that I love, thing’s that I’d avoid and what I’m going to be sneaking into the house come payday, “What? This old thing? I’ve had it years…”

MAC Coppering Eyeshadow 6. Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint in Paradise 7. River Island Embroidered Boots (sold out online)
This month I’ve been loving a mix of fashion, beauty and lifestyle bits.
It’s been a crazy month but this Kate Spade planner has helped me stay on top of solicitors meetings, deadlines and the occasional social event. There’s a calendar at the start of every month followed by tonnes of space to write everything you down. They’re quite pricey for what’s essentially a glorified diary BUT look at it…
River Island have come up trumps recently. I never usually shop in there, mainly because my bum and waist are about 3 sizes apart in their clothing… but these trousers are amazing. Super flattering pleats on the thighs, check, tapered short-arse friendly length, check, elasticated food baby accommodating waist, check. AND, there’s pockets. I know… I’m sick of wearing black skinny jeans to work but these have also become a part of my day-to-day wardrobe. I’ve paired them with jumpers and pointy flats, casual t-shirts and trainers and smart tops and heels, they’re perfect.
James Arthur’s album is incredible. I haven’t listened to anything since adding this album to my Spotify account. I’m not musical in the slightest but this, this is beautiful. That’s all.
Usually, I hate anything on my lips that isn’t completely matte. I can’t deal with feeling product on my lips and I hate things that look glossy or shiny, but, this is a game changer. It has just the right amount of sheen and the subtle gold shade is the perfect update for my every day nude lip. If you want to switch up your normal lip for Christmas, definitely give these Gold Obsession lipsticks a go!
I brought this eyeshadow at the airport back in October and it’s literally on my eyelids every other day. I’m not a pro eyeshadow blender and I don’t pretend to be. I put this into my crease and smudge it under my lower lash line, sometimes I add another shadow to the inner corner and centre of my eyelid, sometimes I don’t. I’m a big fan of a messy red/burnt orange eye!
Barry M will always be the King of nail polish. I was tricked by the coconut infusion in this and took a big whiff to see if it smelt less toxic than normal, it doesn’t. This polish is amazing, it lasts 2 weeks easily without chipping. The colour is a lot darker on my nails than it is in the bottle but I still adore it. It’s the perfect grey/nude/lilac/greige, my go to colour all year round.
My final item, and definitely the most loved. These boots are the dream. I’m 5’4 on a good day and am in heels that often that my boyfriend forgets how short I actually am. These have barely left my feet since I brought them back in October. They go with everything, jeans, dresses, leather trousers, skirts, I love them. They’re a great way to add some detail to a simple outfit and I’m so impressed with the comfort and quality.
I haven’t fully decided yet how I’m going to display my ‘misses’ as they aren’t products this month and I doubt my solicitor would be overly pleased with my slapping her face all over the internet. Basically, I have no time for solicitors, they charge the earth, work annoying hours and don’t turn up to your appointments. This month I’ve been avoiding the gym like the plague and so that’s also a November miss. I blame the cold weather and dark evenings. Who wants to leave their cosy house and head back out into the cold to get even colder under unnecessary air conditioning? Not me. And, finally, winter in general. I’m so done with that already.
1. Morphe Brushes 35 Fall into Frost Palette (sold out online) 2. Olivia Burton Silver and Rose Gold Mesh Watch 3. River Island Studded Heeled Sandals 4. Office Lucy Charm Studded Boots
This months wish list contains one naughty, cheat item. I watched Jamie purchase these River Island sandals for me a while back so hopefully I’ll find them under a Christmas tree in a couple of weeks… I’ve wanted these since I first saw them and cannot wait to never take them off my feet.
It’s highly unlikely that I’ll be able to get my hands on the Morphe palette any time soon but a girl can dream. Reds, browns and burnt oranges are my favourite eyeshadow shades and this palette has it all with the perfect mix of shimmers and mattes. One day!
This Olivia Burton watch is beautiful. I own two rose gold watches of hers already and the quality is amazing. The designs are simple yet so elegant and their range of face sizes is perfect for people like my who have child size wrists! Their customer services are also brilliant and so I’d highly recommend purchasing from them.
Finally… these boots *heart eyes*. Boots are my thing, studded, peep toe, thigh high, heeled flat, black, tan, patterned… I need them all. I’ve realised however, that I own no black ankle boots that don’t have a proper heel and I need some. These are a fab dupe for the Chloé Susanna boots but the Office price tag makes the even more appealing!
So, that’s my first fashion and beauty based post done. I hope that you’ve enjoyed it, I’ve enjoyed gathering my favourite bits and pieces and writing about them. What ave you enjoyed this month and what’s on your Christmas wish list?
